Like most attorneys, I bill my clients based on time spent. In addition, the client is responsible for expenses and out-of-pocket costs. I bill in tenth-hour increments. Generally, the smaller the billing time increment, the better for the client. For example, if an attorney bills in quarter-hour increments, the client is billed for 15 minutes of time for a two-minute telephone call.
Representation and fee agreements between attorney and client are not directly affected by the Collaborative Divorce process.
